follow 62 west to the university, from there take university blvd to bennett lane. take bennett lane to the baseball field. entrance is to the right of the field.
Rode this trail a couple times since I've moved back to Evansville. I Have been riding late fall and into winter. I ride a rigid 29 , which makes this trail a lot of fun, for what it is. As the other review said, it's the cross country running trail, so no benchcuts or switchbacks and a couple very steep technical climbs. I have found the best loop (in my opinion) to be clockwise from the first bench on the left off the Burdette park greenway. From there stay left until the creek at the bottom, follow the trail up-stream to the right. After a few fun climbs you come to a big log rollover and back to the fork of the loop. It's a shorter loop, but is a fun ride without having to dismount and walk your bike up some of the "root" stair steps. There are a lot of different options and trail systems with many outs that lead to the greenway. Haven't seemtraffic on trail, but the greenway is a popular route. Also some outdoor rec game features that are fun to play around on. Not smooth, but is a fun challenge and a chance to get some mud on the tires.
Thank |The trails are if fairly bad shape right now. Lots of downed trees and limbs from the ice storm. I spoke to someone at USI about volunteering but they do not allow it due to liability issues. They hope to have a day set in fall this year to clean the area up a bit.
