Mountain Biking Val Venegia - Dolomites
#3 of 105 mountain bike trails in Italy
The trail is one of my favourites, you will ride underneath the glacier of the Pale di San Martino, which is the source for the Travignolo River. Be sure to have a coffe with Giancarlo at Malga Venegiota, 1/2 way up the climb. The peak at Baita Segantini is a great spot for the final pics (2200m asl). Malga Juribello has cows and they produce their own dairy products.

From Predazzo, go to Paneveggio Centro Visititari, you can park here and follow the signs for Trail 234, you will see the Dolomiti Lagorai Bike sign. After the first 100m, you will come out to the main road, follow it for about 500m and then you re-enter the forest to the left near a small car park... The trail is then easy to follow into the valley.. This is a wonderful loop that will bring you back to the car park.
Riding beside a glacier?? what else can you ask for.. The Pale di San Martino are magnificent, a friend once said to me 'i feel like nothing next to these towering rocks' and hes right, the Dolomites are the mecca for MTB
