Mountain Biking Vanderkamp

#84 of 301 mountain bike trails in New York

Lots and lots of singletrack. Thanx to the guys at bike loft there are lots of stunts, logs rolls, and technical trails designed just especially for mountain bikers. Not a ton of climbing but lots of fun twisty technical singletrack. Trails are marked really well with creative names i.e. Spongebob trail, gremlin, and a big jump called bike loft.

Lots of potential, but neglect and logging have rendered area unenjoyable. Mostly hike-a-bike. Lots of downed trees on poorly marked trails.

The trail had a very good start, has a bridge and some jumps. Although i would have given a better score ,but a guy we n in to said that the trails were never really distinct they had a logging company go through. So trails are extremely rough, he did go on to say that its a work in progress and they are planning to add much more..... so in future i would call before going if possible.

just down the ride from me but i have allways been a bit weary of going here, its a christian camp and i heard they had been turning some people away. the day i went i had no troubles, just had to sign in. the trails are neat (only hit about half of them) but they can be hard to follow at times; the markings are small. we lost a camera at the start of the moss trail so anyone that goes out here keep an eye out for that, we just want the card back, you can keep the camera.

Pretty good trail system, a couple of wet spots, but nothing really to speak of. I don't think I've hit the whole area yet, but it's worth going back too.
