Mountain Biking Vista View Park

**   Add a review
#181 of 288 mountain bike trails in Florida
#6,106 in the world

At 272 acres of green rolling hills and meadows, Vista View offers HILLS!!(not common in South Florida). The "Horse Loop" is about 1.4 miles with long climbs and fast and fun downhill sections. Great trail for training and a good workout. The trail loops the entire park, so you can access it from any of the parking lots. You have to share the trail with runners and the eventual horserider. There are plenty of places for family picnicking, an airstrip for radio-controlled plane and glider pilots, a dock for fishing, and an area for primitive group camping.

A hill in south Florida? Yes it use to be a waste converted into a park great for up and downhill workouts. I use it for cardio on my bike. My company delivers mountain bike rentals for work out sessions. I must add the downhill is a reward for the uphill climb.

Yep, its a land fill alright. No trees no cover just a big lump of dirt and grass with some trails carved into the side. Good leg pump...but you can cut the trail off and bomb straight down the east side from the top to get some air off the lip of the cut away below...just be sure to look out for horses.

Its a landfill - call it what it is. But its a nice landfill. You want a work out ? your legs will know you have been here when you are done. Do you actually want to climb a hill in South Florida, this is it. Your next hill is up in Ocala. A great sweat... a great work out .. you will be tired after an hour ... It won't improve your skill level but it will improve your lungs and your legs. Sounds like a win win training ride to me, I will do it again.
