Rt122 just before/after the bridge on highway there is a parking area.. If you go past you will see the pumping station on the left and if you go past going south you wlll see the entrance to Coldbrook and MDC
this is just what is say's a rail trail.. It runs north to south from the Boston- North Hampton line splitting off in Barre/Oakham line just after the Pumping station on 122 s on the left or just after the bridge 122N on right with a huge parking lot..
The track is pretty straight with little variation until you get up past Gardner.. Anyhow it's not a very refined trail bed with almost no rock dust like a modern rails to trails branch.. Basically the timbers were pulled or dirt was just dumped on top.. Though it is very flat packed dirt with some variation of smaller stones here and there
Has some scenic views depending on where you are and there are also some single track off the sides here or there..
right out of the parking lot there is some single track that flows along the river and then further up the line there is a marked trail T8 which is more single track..
I enjoy riding here and use it regularly when I do a large loop around the Barre Falls dam..
