A small, serene stream flowing over rocks in a forested area, surrounded by greenery and ferns. The water pools at the base, reflecting the vibrant foliage above. Washington Valley mountain bike trail.

#41 of 111 mountain bike trails in New Jersey

Adjacent to Chimney Rock State Park. Fun riding, not to technical for the most part. Someparts are quite hilly. Gets and stays very wet. Beautiful scenic views of the Resevoir.

Super nice, but make sure that you start your ride from the parking lot off Newman's lane for the good stuff. Do not go to the parking lot on Chimney Rock Road!!! There is quite a bit of climbing, but you are rewarded with great descent. Bring lots of water and endurance. Not sure what people mean when they say the trail stays wet after it rains because I went a day after and the trails were very dry.

Some of the guys I ride with really like this place, I perfer Harthshorne. Lots of rock, some challanging sections, slippery and muddy for a day or so after the rain.

A lot of people get this confused with Chimney Rock State Park (I was one of them). Chimney Rock is on the other side Chimney Rock Road so these two parks are connected. Just cross the road to get from one to the other. The main parking lot for Washington Valley Park is off Newmans Lane.
