This 8.000 acre area north of Gillette, Wyoming, is jointly managed by the Forest Service as part of Thunder Basin National Grassland, and the Bureau of Land Management. Development of this area has been gradually improving with more planned in the very near future. Currently, this is a terrific place for families to go for OHV riding with nearly 15 miles of loop trails to choose from, and plenty of variety in challenges. Access to the area is easy and nearly year-round. There are three main graveled parking lots with the main road through the area recently regraveled. For those looking for a non-motorized experience, there is a fishing pond 1 mile up the main road with large trout ready and waiting. There is a vault toilet; however, it was seriously vandalized last year and closed. There are plans to install a new one as soon as possible. Other plans call for installing two bridges across the major drainage, a child's OHV play area near the largest parking lot, and informational signing. There are non-developed campsites available, with the best at the top of the buttes on BLM land. No water is available. source: fs.usda.gov
