Mountain Biking Whitemarsh Island Preserve Trails

#135 of 403 mountain bike trails in Georgia

Fast and flowy. Not overly technical but does have a few log jam crossings and dips with go-arounds. A great trail for all skill levels. A local favorite for MTB speedsters and Cycle-X. Several possible loops. Most popular is the "inside loop" which is 3.5 miles.

Flat and fast. You can take of from the start and almost not need to look for a trail change by just following obvious trail. Until you get to the field, and after that is easy going. Leaving the field are 3 different height jumps (or one jump, 3 heights). Thats fun. and a berm or two after it, then a couple fun obstacles. Otherwise fast f

For what it is, great trail system. Lots of turns and roots to work on handling skills. A handful of more advanced features: skinnies, logs, ramp/drop, and one decent sized jump leading into two berms will keep advanced riders interested. Definitely check out if you are in the area.

I thoroughly enjoyed my ride at Whitemarsh when I was in town visiting. Lack of overall mileage was kind of a bummer, but I did a few laps and didn't get bored. There's plenty of tight/twisty/rooty singletrack here, as well as some fun flowing bits that let you put the hammer down. The log rides/advanced features that I tried were fun too. Overall it was a great morning on the bike; cool scenery, interesting trail and a fun workout.

I thought this trail was so much fun. So fast and sweeping. For an out of towner it was a great way to see some different landscape. No hills of course though but you can get a workout by just going faster!!

Lots of fun and fast. Good confidence builder for my 12 year old. Local SOBRA has it looking good.

The absolute beginner trail. Completely flat except for a small hump or two. Perfect place to bring your kids for a ride in the woods. Don't expect any type of challenge, but if you want to just ride fast and not stress too much, this is an ok place.

Nice beginner trails for new riders, families and people looking to get some wheel time. Fontana is fast, Fart Swamp is tight twisty with some dips and fun. Hip and Dip has a pull up bar and a rope swing. Trails are well marked and well maintained. Great place to go for a few hours and sweat.

Fun little ride not a lot of down hills but to be expected with this area it was smooth and the jumps where not big the wood features were labeled correctly hand a lot of hairpin turns and a few technical points and the trail is not directional so we had to move over a couple of time but no biggie still fun

Trails in the Savannah area are typically in poor shape and poorly marked. This trail was very different from the others and was well maintained and well marked. In my opinion, if you have the chance to go for a ride in this area, this is the trail to go to. I rode the 4.8 mile loop 4 times and got in a nice little work out. On a side note, this trail does not appear on the nearby trails option!
