Mountain Biking Whiting Campgrounds

  Add a review
#488 of 710 mountain bike trails in Utah
#27,410 in the world

Fairly continuous climbing through the first 1.5 miles going up the trail from the lower parking lot. You gain about 1,000 feet of elevation in only 2 miles of riding, so it's physically demanding. Once you get to the campground, there's more singletrack that flows around the outer edge of the sites. At the top parking lot there's a gate to access trails that continue up Mapleton Canyon. Those trails are rideable as well but are also physically demanding climbs with fun stream crossings or log rides and rocky descents as you return back down the trail.

Getting there
You can start the trail at the lowest parking lot and ride up to the campgrounds from there or drive up to the campgrounds and ride a loop around the campsites and continue farther up the canyon beyond the gate if desired.
