****   Add a review
#7 of 121 mountain bike trails in Maine
#969 in the world

Titcomb Mountain is a small ski mountain in central Maine with a nice singletrack cross-country loop with a few nice technical features, and a challenging but fun climb to the top.

Mountain biking is free in the ski off-season, but $5 when the mountain is open for skiiing. During the ski season, only fat bikes are allowed.

Titcomb Mountain Cross-country ski trails are groomed for both classic and skate skiing and meander from fields through woodlands and up to the top of the ski mountain. A day pass or a seasonal membership is required to use the trails. Equipment rentals are available on site. For information on ski rates, hours and current conditions, please visit the website or contact the ski area.

Titcomb has expanded since this was originally been posted. There is approx 8 miles of fast flowing trails now. Each lap consists of roughly 800 feet of climbing with fast downhills that have berms, features and lots of flow. Each year more and more trails are being added. Its a must ride network if you are in Maine! Titcomb hosts two races a year, one xc/marathon in the summer and a fat bike race in the winter. Highly recommend this trail network!

My son, father-in-law, and I all find something we like on this trail. We range in ages from 13-72. My son likes the jumps and technical sections, my father-in-law likes the physical workout and the fact that you can bypass the technical areas, I like the fast sections near the return to the rail trail. There is a newer section that parallels the rail trail now. This is a great ride and you can do it a couple of times if you have a couple of hours.

A lot of fun with a great climb up the mountain with smartly designed trails making maximum use of the land features. Nice mix of some technical features with flowing layout.
