Mountain Biking Wildcat Ridge

****   Add a review
#34 of 111 mountain bike trails in New Jersey
#2,663 in the world

Nice and tough singletrack maintained by jorba, also connects to split rock reservoir. Climbs can be brutal, but normally the brutal climbs are on double track. Need to have an entire day at this system to ride everything.

This trail system is for skilled and physically fit riders. It has some of the most challenging terrains in NJ. If you aren't ready to earn your miles you will hate this place, but if you like to get beat up by rock gardens and out of breath on downhills fighting challenging terrain, this is the place.
I am neither a skilled nor fit rider and still love this place, this is mountain biking.

There have been many new miles added to this place. It has everything. Tech, climbs, downhills & Hike a bike. you name it and many ways to get all of them. Hawks watch is a great destination. Best bet is to hookup with a group ride or grab a local. It can be ridden by the guyt looking to get better. Enjoy!

Tough to find. Easy to to get lost. Some trails have been closed with logs. Pay attention... that means an alternate better trail was
missed. Go with a group and bring water and gps. I will be back. A good challenge.

Very bad. Trails are extremely poorly kept logs everywhere and thorn bushes in the middle of trails. Got lost several times. Lots of uphill .

I'm changing my review of Wildcat Ridge after riding here 4 or 5 times. This place is INSANE. The challenge is absolutely addicting. Every time I've come here I've cleared something new and its what I look forward to the most when coming here. I need to recommend this trail to anyone who likes a rocky challenge.. one of the hardest places in New Jersey! I got lost the first time I came, so I would stay on the marked track.
