Mountain Biking Wildlife Loop

*****   Add a review
#119 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
#2,259 in the world

Trail is accessable from Lauel Loop. The trail is open and flowing. This trail reminds me of Tsali Mouse Loop and Dark Mountain but has a unique feel of its own with a nice half pipe thrown in for kicks. The sinage is confusing. Even years you go clockwise and odd years you travel counter clockwise. This was an awesome ride. Lake Norman State Park is becoming our favorite ride. Watch out for Slick oak leaves and Pine needles which will take you down in the hair pin turns. Great scenery and varies between fast open hardwood flowing trails to tight single track among pines. Running cedar and large valleys line the trail. We saw deer crossing the trail. Great fun ride. Tarheel Trailblaizers have out done themselves on the new trails.

Rode this trail today was a great trail but i personaly was plagued with bike drive train issues but wont hold that against the track it was smooth and fast on the down hills and not much hard uphills except for a couple of spotts be carefull though its fast and i went off course a couple times on missed corners

I rode this trail today and the only problem i had was that since it is an odd year i had to go counter clock wise which means most of the trail was up hill but im going to go back to it next year when its an even year so i can ride clock wise where it will be mostly down hill.

The Fallstown loop and the Fox Loop are connected to it

Newest trails in the Lake Norman State Park. My son and I loved the trail. Rode it today. Going back tomorrow. Signs are confusing the first time out but this is a new trail. Slick oak leaves and pine needles. We liked the joining trail called Fallstown even better. It was full of roller coaster downhills and was totally awesome the way it flowed.
