Mountain Biking Wine Creek
#13 of 115 mountain bike trails in South Carolina
Flat, tight, fast, smooth. A great trail for beginners or advanced riders. Combine with Turkey Creek for a longer ride.

"From Augusta, take Hwy. 28 (Fury's Ferry) to South Carolina. Go about 15 miles to Modoc. Turn right onto Hwy. 23. Go about 6 miles. Turn left onto Key Rd. Go 5 miles to the steel bridge. Park on the other side of the bridge. Trailhead is to the right.

Nice trail. It didn't keep may attention too long. I think the low rating is from riding Turkey Creek first. I rode two miles out and back and was not to impressed. I am hearing now that i should have gone further and the trail would have been better. I will ride it again if i have the time and redo my review.
Thank |This is a great, scenic trail. When starting from the Key Bridge the first half is tight, flowing singletrack. The second half gets a little more technical as you follow along Wine Creek. Some great sections with small rock gardens. Saw deer, squirrels, snakes, turtles, small fish, frogs, and a coyote. This is a beautiful trail and I highly recommend it. Don't forget you can add Turkey Creek to make a longer ride. In my opinion, Turkey Creek is more fun to ride, but Wine Creek is more scenic. So, ride both!
Thank |Fun, flat, fast 5.5 mile out and back. The best parts are in the northern 3 miles, where the trail is in a more open forest, and there's some fun rocky sections right along the creek about 2 miles from the north end. Combine with Turkey Creek for a longer ride.
Thank |The northern section of the trail follows close to a creek with some technical sections and good scenery. The southern section is not as fun. Old school style of trail. Some good dips and creek crossings. Cross the Key Road and add Turkey Creek for a longer ride.
Thank |The tunnel effect through the undergrowth was pretty cool. However, when I rode it, it was pretty soggy, and there were several massive trees down, some serious debris, and messed up bridges along it. It needs some work.
