This section of the Ouachita Trail once had the "Bad Boy" image. But following much maintenance and some trail reroutes, we have tamed the beast eliminating the infamous 1 mile hike-a-bike and. Expert and Intermediate skill riders will get a good 4-6 hour ride point to point. The trail still serves up a good helping of big climbs, but most can be handled in the granny gear. You will be rewarded with some fast and steep downhill runs. Plenty of technical and narrow single track trail. The rocky soil drains well and combined with it's ridge-top traverse, it remains dry and makes for a good choice in the Winter and Fall when you are looking for some dry trail. For Beginners the ride in from Hwy 71 makes for a pretty good ride as an in and out. Starting out with a 4 mile climb on a logging road, which is middle chainring with a little bit of granny gear climbing. At Wolf Pinnacle the trail turns to singletrack. Travel in until you are no longer having fun then turn back.
