#5 of 66 mountain bike trails in Victoria
#645 in the world

Sweet flowing singletrack & lots of it , around 20 km of fun flowing trails through native bushland . Native wildlife include wombats, wallabies , kangaroos, echidnas & snakes although the trails are well frequented so it just pays to be aware . A beautiful part of Victoria dwarfed by Mt Macedon & lush surrounding forests

Well posted trail with many interesting loops and DH sections. Be cautious if you hit the track a day after heavy rain!
Some sections are not ideal for beginners, but a great, all-rounded trail

Enjoyable ride with some single track and short climbs. Avoid after rain as it's often holds the water - especially during winter.
Take supplies as closest amenities are 8km's in Woodend. Also watch for fallen trees across the trail as this happens quite regularly

A very fun network of about 20 km of fun flowing singletrack, a few log jumps however mostly snaking roller coaster flowing singletrack .The climbs are mostly short & the Wombat loop runs through lush native forest . A friendly trail network for beginner to advanced , a great network for XC racing . Host trail of the annual Wombat Classic MTB XC Race , best avoided after heavy rain , 5 out of 5 for fun

Well compacted track in 90% of track. The start really gets you going for some real fun flowing singletrack. Switchbacks towards the end really test your ability and mettle. Track is constantly improving over time, but trailbikes may venture on and rip it up in places.

Tight, technical singletrack, with plenty of log jumps, short sharp hills and flowing downhill sections. The track has a number of log rides with B line options. It would be approx. 95% singletrack, 5% fire road. Easy access from Melbourne, only 45min from inner city. Good facilities in Woodend (microbrewery, bakeries, cafes etc) about 8 km from trail head. See woodend cycles website for map and directions. A great purpose built singletrack, close to Melb.
