The St. Croix Falls Woolly Trails have something for EVERY level of rider. One can start out riding the grass, limestone, or even black top bike trails. For more advanced riders, the single track and sections of double track will challenge any rider with challenging terrain, tight corners, rocky sections, and log piles.

Thank |Best groomed trail I've found!!
Thank |Best groomed trail I've gound!!
Thank |Since my first review in 2013 these trails have been greatly improved. There is now a trail head parking lot, and signage maps to help you find your way around. A fantastic new section, Erratic Rock (5 stars!!) has been added. Don't be scared away - tnese are not really advanced trails. I have taken beginning mountain bikers here. I would put these trails at a solid intermediate, except for the trail behind the high school. That one is a little more technical, with some steeper decents and some longer climbs. It has been improved though! Big Oak is easy - here is where families take their smaller kids. It is flat, but has some bermed turns, obstacles (major ones have go-arounds), and lots of twists and turns. Unfortunately, there were many closures this season due to wet conditions. Check the Woolly Trails FB page for closures. Let's hope for a great autumn!
Thank |True advanced trails. Climbs will test even fittest riders. Well maintained with maps at major intersections.
Thank |Rode Woolly for the first time during the Minnesota Series Mountain Bike Race. It made for a fun, challenging course for my legs. Trails are well marked and constructed with some nice flowy sections, some rocky, more technical spots and few climbs that will work your legs. A little fun for everyone. Park at the high school for easy access to all the trail sections.
Thank |Mostly uphill and trail is built slow much better place for fat biking in the winter
Thank |My first time at this trail and I very much enjoyed it. Nice flowy single track and some technical sections. Had 1 wipe out on the rock garden lol. It was dry and a little slick the day I came but a great time!
Thank |Some of this trail is hard to find if you've never been there before. From the high school parking lot, you can reach one part of the trails. This trail is difficult. There are obstacles, steep and loose downhills with turns, and some climbs. There are several more sections to the trail that are further away from the school. From the middle parking lot, take the paved bike trail away from the schools. Cross a road, keep going through a woods and over a little stream, then stay to the left when you come out to the open area again. Stay on the mowed path around until you come to a little uphill with a trail to the left. This is the beginning of the rest of the single track. These trails are one way and more moderate, except for one rocky section that you can either avoid entirely if you are not expert level or walk over the big rocks until you get to the easier part. When you come out to the grass path, stay left up and down some hills, the left to more single track. After this section, you'll come to gravel bike path again, stay a little to the left, and then enter a new section of trails on your right.. Trails have been well maintained this summer and are very fun to ride. Trails are marked with difficulty levels and arrows for direction.
