Mountain Biking Yul-dong Park
#12 of 18 mountain bike trails in South Korea
Yul-dong Park System 율동공원
318 Yul-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
I wouldn't recommend this trail. But if you're addicted to the sport and you need your fix however you can get it, then the Bundang trail is your spot. Some of this trail I would consider green and has good flow to it. And there are other parts of the trail that are steep climbs including multiple hike a bike sections. I would say my experience was 30% biking and 70% hike-a-bike at my intermediate ability. Quite a bit of the trail is nicely graded it just needs a mountain bikers touch to smooth it out and make it more rideable.

There's a big parking lot at Yul-dong Park. If you're not traveling by car the biggest thing to remember with Bundang is that you HAVE to take the Bundang yellow line 9. The pink Bundang line doesn't allow bikes AT ALL. I guess they're considered a special express line and can get away with bike prejudice. So the closest subway station on the yellow Bundang line 9 is Moran station exit 8. Head to the river and then follow the riverside bike trail all the way to Yul-dong Park. When you get to the park you will see a large bungee jump tower. The bike trail is on the other side of the lake up a side road near some tennis courts.
I rode this trail back in 2014 when I was stationed in South Korea. Definitely a hike a bike trail with foot traffic. Some areas on the North side are a little more intermediate but short.
Thank |It's pretty steep during parts of the trail. Once you get up to the ridgeline it follows the top of the range all the way. This system has potential but it needs better signage and smoothed out so it's less hike-a-bike
