Mountain Biking Alum Creek Beginner Trail
#40 of 116 mountain bike trails in Ohio
This was previously listed under P1 but is worth a separate mention. It is very much less technical but has features and challenges to engage people new to the sport. Very well maintained.

same as Alum Creek P1, but trail is across the street from the parking lot
This is a warm up for Phase 1. It drains horribly, so watch the weather. This is worth hitting if you are riding at Alum Creek, but it is nothing special.
Thank |Fairly tame, short loop - good for warming up or bringing beginners out to build skill/confidence.
There is a new skills course at the trail entrance featuring bridges, skinnys, pump track, drops and more. There are progression levels for most of these. It's still being built but it is awesome and open to ride!
Thank |I think there must be a mix up of locations, because this is not 2 miles long. I went on this for the first time today, and I'm relatively new to riding. 6 miles was a real challenge and it took me about 1.5 hours to get through, and boy was I miserable by the end LOL
Thank |A great trail to warm up, but not very good for much else. Parts don't drain very well, 5 days since last rain and still have puddles. A few optional features but mostly just a flowy trail with some roots.
Thank |Short and Sweet. This is right across the road from the parking for Phase 1 I suggest you ride this before any other trail at Alum Creek. Take a newbie out for a quick ride!
Thank |This is not a difficult trail. it is across the street from the parking lot. It is rooty enough for beginners to be challenged but not overwhelmed. The bridges are around 2' wide and there are a couple of log-overs which is the only reason this isn't rated the easiest. Some of the obstacles will make the true newbie nervous.
