Mountain Biking Arizona Trail: Flagstaff
#28 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
Leaving the back of Buffalo Park, stay right on the MT Elden Trail System. Any combination of this network of trails will get you over to the east side where you pick up the AZT and follow that to Fischer Point. After descending down into Walnut Canyon from Fischer point, stay right and ride single/double-track back into town. You will end up on the FUTS (Flagstaff Urban Trail System) near the water treatment plant.

The AZT has several branches in and around Flagstaff. The submitted map
shows a combination of AZT and other trails to make a 30 miles loop around
Flagstaff. It starts in Buffalo park and ends on the Urban Trail on the NAU
campus. There are many parking options at either end.

In contrast to portions of the trail north of Flag (Section 33b), some portions of the trail south of Flag (Section 33a) are not that impressive or interesting. Lots of forest road track from town to Fisher Point. Obviously this is a tale of two very different trails.
Thank |Yes, a must ride if in Flagstaff. As a local Flagstaffian, this is one of my favorites. A really fun ride from the top of Schultz Creek trail out past Snowbowl, climbing the whole way. But the down hill back is well worth it.
Thank |Super fun trail one of the best I have ridden in Arizona. Had to turn back due to some adverse weather. Can you spell severe thunderstorm? Awesome trail and super flowy.
