Mountain Biking Campbell Mesa Loops

***   Add a review
#41 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
#1,079 in the world

These trails are all pretty much single track, built for beginners or just getting in a quick after work ride, they are also very popular with local trail runners. Relatively flat but twisty & fun trails through the forest. All the trails end up back at the same spot.

Getting there
Heading east from downtown Flagstaff either on Route 66 or Interstate 40 turn right on Country Club Dr and head south about 1 mile. Turn left on old Walnut Canyon Rd, the pavement will end in about 100 yards and you will cross a cattle guard. The parking will be the next road to the left with a gate. Ride through the gate and up the hill for .2 miles to the main trailheads. This spot gives you access to 5 different loops all varying in length, a large map and trail description can be found on a sign here.

This was the perfect introduction to Flagstaff's trail system for a first time visitor... easy and flowy and it connects to the AZ trail to get you to Mt Elden.

Beginners trail system east of Flagstaff. Great trails for those new to the sport. Experienced riders need not visit considering the endless trail options Flag has to offer the more advanced rider.

This is the epitome of a perfect beginner trail system. There are no big climbs, scary descents or threatening obstacles, but the loops are fun, fast, and the sparse ponderosa pine forest is very welcoming. Unfortunately, the north end of the network is close to I-40 and, although you can't see the freeway, you can sure hear it.

This was very fun trail for me, as I am low skilled. Campbell loop was easy with fun rocky sections

If you are looking for something relaxing and far from technical then this is a wonderful set of loops to explore. The incline/decline is very shallow and the turns are not tight by any means. Great ride when you just want to get out in the trees and ride.
