Mountain Biking Coldwater Canyon Overlook

Very scenic and fairly easy out and back. The view at the top overlooking Ogden
canyon is spectacular! Bombing the downhill on the return trip can be a blast,
but only if you're not in peak traffic hours as this is a very popular trail for hikers and horseback riders. If you want a better downhill with very little traffic take the new Sardine trail that splits off at the saddle to extend this ride.

This is more of an addition to Sardine Loop for me. It's a short detour that takes you to a really nice view of the Ogden Valley. It's a nice ride in the Summer with a lot of shade and altitude to beat some of the heat.

The trail description and reviews have left me confused about this trail... My understanding is that it's the short, half mile long detour off the Sardine Peak trail that takes you to an overlook. In that case the views are spectacular so the detour is well worth the effort.

Highly enjoyable with a short climb up (~3.5 mi) and a long fast downhill (~5 miles). Nearly fully shaded, spectacular views.

I rode up Ogden Overlook, then descended back to the Snowbasin parking lot via Sardine Peak.

First single track I've done in Utah. Fairly good climb to the top of the Ogden outlook. Took about 45 minutes up and 10 minutes down. A few small patches of snow, but otherwise dry. View at the top was spectacular.

This is a pretty short ride, so I normally incorporate other loops into this such as starting from the Art Nord trailhead or at least adding Sardine onto it. This trail is perfect for the hot summer days where everything else is too hot to ride. Great tree coverage on most of this trail keeps the temps down. The view from the top is spectacular!
