Mountain Biking Klaus Park
#44 of 169 mountain bike trails in Missouri
Trail is singletrack and ridden in either direction. It has some short hills but other wise an easy trail to ride. It was used as one of the Midwest Fat Tire series race event last year. Trail does not get too far from parking which makes it easy if you have a mechanical.

From Cape Girardeau take I55 north to Hwy 61 and go left at intersection. Travel 1/4 mile to Wedekind Rd and take left. At T-intersection with Old Cape Rd E. go left. Drive for approximately 1/2 mile to park entrance on left.
It's great
Thank |This trail has really been improved in the last 5 years. They've added new features, and there seems to be more trail in the wooded area.
Thank |Just an awsome short bit of trail. There is no level ground in this park so it's got some fast twisty downs and some climbing work out stuff, most of it flows well, but ether way there will be some a gear grinder or 2. I tried both directions and it's hard to pic. CW seamed to be more wide open and flying around fast fun turns, but the roller coaster section is definitely CCW. I'd suggest both, more then once.
Thank |Three miles of singletrack in a small park near a populated area. Most of the trail winds through parkland, tall trees spaced apart on mowed grass hillsides. Some winds through the tiny wooded area available. The designer has layed out a mostly sustainable track on this limited terrain. Vertical changes are the only technical challenges so its good for kids and beginners. A plus is that you're never far from your car if anything happens. A good resource for a quick workout if you live in the area but no one is going to travel far to ride here.
Thank |Nice, fast trail for the beginner. Nice and windy, 1-2 logs to get over (easy to ride over). And lots of roots. Great trail, wish there were more in Cape.
Thank |Nice easily accessable trail, right next to I-55, exit 99. Truckers-no room for trailers. A few low branches at the park entrance. Restroom facilities. Picnic shelters also here, 2 of them.
Trail can be seen from I-55, lots of short climbs, some steep, lots of tight corners, a couple of spoke-breaking dips. Lots of exposed roots, a few fallen trees.
3 mile of good work-out! Trail goes thru thick wooded area, and trees/grass.
Trail dries out quick after a rainstorm. Joggers also use the trails.

Thank |Fun & easy trail. Cape has needed a this for a long time now. I gave it 5 stars since there isn't another trail in our area (that I know of) to compare it to.

Thank |Short quick trail with a small hill. Not technical but good for an after work ride.
