Mountain Biking Mill Creek

*****   Add a review
#4 of 256 mountain bike trails in Wyoming
#131 in the world

Trail starts to the south of Dreamcatcher chairlift. (Trails are marked by
resort) You take the Lightning Ridge trail up to Lightning Loop. Then
continue onto Colter's Escape which leads you out of the resort boundary
and onto Mill Creek. Mill Creek will dump you out into Teton Canyon. After
almost 2K feet of
elevation loss. Trail is easiest if you shuttle by leaving a car in Teton
Canyon at the first pull out. You can also ride up the rode to the resort
(about an hour) or up Mill Creek trail if you have time and can't shuttle.

This is the kind of trail that has you smiling all the way. Combined with Colter's Escape, which links to it, you get about 5 miles of blissful down-slope riding in a beautiful setting. It's cross-country style riding - don't look for lots of MTB features but you will be able to catch some air from time to time.

This trail is an absolute riot of a descent! There are a few rocks and a few tight turns, but nothing crazy--all intermediates and possibly even some beginners would be at home on this trail. That said, this descent is so FAST, flowy, and just an all-around great time, that it's a must-do for every serious mountain biker visiting the Wydaho area!

I started at the bottom of Mill Creek, climbed to a yurt where Colter's and 38 Special converge. I took 38 Special which is switchback city all the way to Peaked. Each left turn on 38 reveal a closer view of the Tetons which makes up for the soul-crushing climb. I then DH'd Peaked back down to Mill Creek - WOW! Amazing trail. Fast, fun, flowy. Outside of a day at the lifts of Grand Targhee, this is the best trail in Teton Valley.

Great confidence booster if you want to get comfortable going downhill. First two thirds of trail are smooth and flowy, bottom third is a little more rocky and technical. Unbeatable views of the Tetons!

Awesome, flowy singletrack. Beautiful backdrop of Teton Valley and the Teton Range. Finishes with a great forest section, where it gets a bit more rocky and technical

Trail has the best views and downhill rivals any in the area. Lightning loop segment has views of the grand teton almost the whole time. The mill creek downhill is extremely fast with a couple of small rock gardens along the way couple with some small rocks to jump off.
