Mountain Biking Sister Grove

****   Add a review
#100 of 279 mountain bike trails in Texas
#3,775 in the world

"The trail is made up of two single track loops that form a figure eight. The direction of the trail is clock wise, so at the trail head go left. The two loops are Sister Grove Loop and the Lake Loop. At the junction of the two loops is a gate. When you get to the gate, always take a left.

It is beginner to intermidiate level trail. It is a rolling trail that winds it ways through open fields and woods. It has some good climbs on the Lake Loop and some fast fun down hills on the Sister Grove Loop. It has one tight twisty rooty wooded section near the end of the Sister Grove Loop that is challenging. First ride at Sister Grove today and my daughter and I enjoyed it immensely. The trails are very well groomed and a lot of work has been put into caring for these trails. Yellow (Puppy) loop would be great for a first timer. Blue and Red trails were fun and flowy. Red's Expert loop had a bypass if you prefer but the expert loop was tight, fun and not too much for a fat old guy to handle.

Sister Grove is a good trail and its never too busy so its a good place to get away and enjoy some time on the trail. 4 loops and they are well marked. The ground it cracked in the flat open sections due to the dry weather but I still enjoy the trail.

not a bad trail---but go later in the day or you will eat many spiders and webs---tight singletrack---2 loops with nice twists--some parts not marked to well due to overgrowth--otherwise nice

Mostly tight singletrack. It is a nice change of pace trail from riding the local trails a lot. I don't go out of my way to ride this one. Its a little short, and a bit out of the way. The best part about this one is that there tends to be very little traffic on it.

I may be a little jaded here on the review... but with Isle Du Bois, Johnson's Branch and Erwin Park being closer to home I'm a little spoiled.
