Mountain Biking Ski Lift--kelly Canyon
#119 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
The trail switchbacks up Kelly Mountain, hitting two brief red-line climbs before you get up on the
top. The famed "Shale Chute" is back there somewhere (so this is part of the route for the Kelly
Canyon Knobby Tire Series race) if you're into that downhill stuff. You might have to compete
with motorcyclists or cows, but all in all, it's a short, decent ride.

Drive past Kelly Canyon Ski Resort on Kelly Canyon Road until you get to the info booth. Turn
right, park. Straight ahead, there's a gate for keeping the cows out, the trail goes up on the right
of that gate. Part of the Kelly Canyon trail network, so you can ride it down to the base of the ski
slopes, etc.
Because it's so accessible, this ride was a regular favorite in the fall. It doesn't seem like it's too technical unless the cows have left a bunch of posthole-hoof marks in the trail, then it gets kinda tough to roll through the slop on the steep sections. It's nothing a beginner can't handle, but it still might force you off your bike here and there
