Trail system can start from Channel lock or Bovine. Channel Lock is an
easier climb than Bovine. This description and mileage starts at the
Channel Lock trail, forest service boundary marker. Take Channel Lock trail
up to the top (1.1) continue straight on trail 249 (1.49) miles. Trailhead
sign for Sodbusters is on the left. Sodbusters continues until you hit a fork
in the trail (2.75). Go right it will take you across a bridge and then start to
climb again. This part is Cody's Loop. You will cross a jeep track but just
continue straight on the single track. You will come to a 4 way trail junction
about (3.93). Head left onto Shark's Belly. This will take you mostly
downhill back to the top of Bovine (5.46). At the top of Bovine you can
choose to head down it and back to the car or take a left and head back
over to Channel Lock and back to the car. If you take Bovine you will hit
the road at (6.74). Take a left on the road back to the Channel Lock
parking area (7.42)

Getting there
At the stoplight in Driggs head west. When the road curves south continue straight. The main road will curve north and then west again heading into Horseshoe Canyon. After you cross the forest service boundary (second cattle guard) trail head is .4 miles on the right. Parking pullout is a little farther on the left or on the right. Trails are accessed from either Channel Lock or Bovine.

I rode Sharks Belly as part of a loop of the Horseshoe Canyon trails. Sharks Belly was my favorite part of the circuit - it wound its way through forest with a little more technical interest than the other trails. It leads into Bovine which takes you back down the hill to the car park.

Sharks Belly is a shared-use two-way trail rather than a purpose built mountain bike trail but it does have some features to keep you focused in places and rushing through the trees is exhilarating.

A loamy romp through the forest that reminds me of shredding in the Midwest--only better!

A sweet trail in the woods after you climb Bovine. Great flow with great dirt.

This trail is a riot! Tough climb to XC section followed by some easy DH sections. Chased some cows through a pasture... The last DH section was so freaking fast. Awesome place to ride and thanks to Habitat, Driggs, ID for directions.

Trail has a hard but short climb halfway through Cody's loop section. Trail through Sharksbelly is very nice shaded through the trees. Has a couple of bridges to keep you honest. Great trail to ride after work.
