Here's what you get: A 4 mile climb on rather uninteresting singletrack. After you crest the top, go downhill another hundred yards and look for the singletrack heading right. Then you get 2 miles of very sweet downhill singletrack (if horses havent torn it up). Then you hit a dirt road that will take you back to the highway and your car. The singletrack is great, but there's just too little of it to make this a great ride.

From Pocatello, go south on the Bannock Highway. It will veer right and become the Mink Creek Road. About 4 miles past the Scout Mountain turnoff, look for a small building (valve house) and trailhead on the left. The parking is about 50 yards further on the right.
Uphill is on a wide, well marked trail with some steepish sections and minor rocks and ruts. Downhill hard to find, I followed some of the numerous locals. Downhill was lovely, not so steep as to make your brakes burn, but enough to keep the adrenaline pumping. The downhill was mostly swishy turns through a single track partially hidden by growth (it was a wet spring!) There were a few tight turns and one short really steep section.
