The Singletracks Brutal weekend is back for the fourth year in a row, and this year’s event has been expanded with a second day of riding following the classic Brutal Loop on Saturday. The event has a strict limit of 75 riders so sign up now before it’s sold out.
The classic Brutal Loop ride on March 31 will take riders down the scenic and seemingly never-ending Mountaintown Creek trail, returning to Mulberry Gap via the Pinhoti trail. This 32-mile route packs in 4,700 feet of climbing (and descending). For those who aren’t up for the full route, a 20-mile option including the Bear Creek and Pinhoti trails (with 3,500 feet of climbing) will be available.

And if the Brutal Loop just isn’t brutal enough, riders can choose to tackle another big ride the following day, on Sunday, April 1. This 33-mile route reverses the Pinhoti 1 and 2 sections from day 1 and descends Windy Gap, a rowdy trail that is not to be missed. Few riders choose to tackle this route on their own, so don’t miss this chance.
Mulberry Gap makes the perfect base camp for such a Brutal weekend, offering parking, showers, Wi-Fi, swag, and lunches for registered riders. Registration is $45 for just the Saturday ride, or $75 for both days. Don’t forget to reserve a cabin, campsite, or a bed in the bunkhouse and make a weekend out of it. The Brutal weekend is always a great time to hang out with fellow Singletracks riders from all over the Southeast.
