Intense has just announced an all-new trail bike: the Recluse. With 140mm of rear suspension featuring a proprietary I-Box pivot system, and 150mm of front suspension, it promises to ascend as efficiently as it bombs back down the other side of the mountain. This trail bike comes stock with standard-width 27.5″ wheels.
It appears that the big news with this new release is Boost spacing front and back, along with an updated SL frame that weighs 250 grams less than the standard frame. All of the cable routing and dropper post routing is internal, creating a gorgeous, extremely clean-looking bike.
The head tube angle on all of the bikes is a slack 66-degrees, providing confident handling on the descents. Chainstay length is 419mm in all models, with an overall wheel base of 1169mm in the size-medium, 438mm reach (medium), and 800mm standover height (medium).
Factory Build
The Factory build is spec’ed with a Fox Factory 36 Float Kashima fork up front, Fox Factory Float X2 shock in the rear, Mavic XA Pro Carbon wheels, a SRAM XX1 11-speed drivetrain (no Eagle 1×12 here), a RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper post, and Shimano XTR disc brakes.
MSRP: $9,500
The Recluse is available in a variety of other builds, all the way down to the Foundation with an MSRP of $4,599.
