On-bike storage wars rage on, and the mountain bike world has a new contender made by Granite Design, called the STASH Tool System.
The STASH works similarly to a OneUp EDC by putting a small tool collection inside the steerer tube can be deployed quickly for trailside repairs, perhaps reducing the need to ride with a pack altogether.
Inside the 135g STASH is an 8-piece multi-tool with a valve core remover and spoke key. The multi-tool has 2, 2.5, 4, 5, and 6mm hex keys; a T25 Torx bit; flat head screw driver; and four spoke key options.
Unlike a OneUp EDC, the STASH doesn’t require the inside of the steerer tube to be tapped to be installed.
The STASH works alongside the rest of Granite Design’s stashable tools, including the chain tool and tire plug.
The STASH is available in black or orange. The tool weighs 57g according to Granite Design and the whole system weighs 145g. It is made from aluminum, compatible with tapered and 1-1/8″ straight steerer tubes, and costs $55.
