Fox recently announced a new helmet, dubbed the Proframe, that the company claims is one of the most breathable and lightest full face, DH-approved mountain bike helmets ever made. As anyone who has ever worn a full face helmet for mountain biking knows, these helmets can be hot and heavy, so Fox’s new design is certainly welcome news.

Unlike helmets with removable chin bars like the Bell Super 2R, the new Fox Proframe helmet has an integrated chin bar that cannot be removed. As such, the Proframe is said to meet ASTM DH standards. Fox also managed to squeeze in MIPS protection inside the lid.

The Fox Proframe boasts 15 intake vents on the front, top, and within the chin bar for maximum air flow. Even the fixed visor is designed to catch and funnel air into the vents for added ventilation. At the rear, 9 exhaust vents expel hot air from the helmet.

The Proframe weighs 750g (size medium) and is available in a variety of colorways on Fox’s website for $249.95 USD.
