Otso Cycles may be a new brand, but the crew behind the company is the same that founded Wolf Tooth Components. Otso is launching their brand with two bikes. The Warakin is a stainless steel-framed drop bar gravel bike, but the one we’re really interested in is the Voytek.

The Voytek features a carbon frame that can accommodate three distinct wheel sizes: 26″ fat; 27.5″+; and 29″+. Otso calls their design “Plus-Fat.” Otso claims “the narrowest Q-factor of any production fat-tire-capable bike” which should make the Voytek handle like a traditional mountain bike, not a fat bike. The 183mm Q-factor was achieved by designing the bike for 1x drivetrains only, in addition to a custom offset chainring – supplied by Wolf Tooth, of course.

Otso also uses what they call the “Tuning Chip” which allows a rider to adjust the chainstay length between 430-450mm. Moving the chip will have a slight effect on the geometry in terms of the head tube angle (+/- 0.2 deg), BB drop (58-62mm), as well as the wheelbase. The Voytek can run a suspension-corrected rigid fork or squishy forks up to 120mm. With 100mm of travel, the headtube angle sits at 69 deg – bumping up to 120mm of travel will slacken things out to 68.5.
A bare, medium-sized frame weighs 1350g, and a complete Voytek with a rigid fork and 27.5+ wheels comes in at 22.8lbs. Complete bikes with an XT drivetrain, start at $3,900. Adding a 120mm RockShox Reba ups the price to $4,200, while a Fox 34 takes it to $4,600.
The bikes are available for pre-sale now through the Otso website. Medium and large sized frames will begin shipping in mid-September with the remaining sizes coming in October.
