The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today that certain models of SR Suntour suspension forks are being recalled. Apparently, the bolt connecting the lowers to the uppers can break causing your front wheel to come off of your bike.
The affected models include: M3010, M3020, M3030, NEX and XCT forks. To check if your fork is affected, look on the back of the fork’s crown for the serial number. If the serial number begins with a “K” and ends with a number between 141101 and 150127, get in touch with SR Suntour immediately via email: [email protected] or by calling 1-888-820-8458.
These forks were found on entry-level bikes from several brands including Trek, Cannondale, Giant, Scott, and Diamondback. They estimate that 68,000 bikes in the US and 33,600 in Canada sold between November 2014 and May 2015 may be affected by this recall.
If you’ve got one of these bikes out in the garage, go check the serial number and get it fixed!
