With my sunglasses on, I’m Jack Nicholson. Without them, I’m fat and 60.
Jack Nicholson
Okay, I’m not fat or even close to 60 but with my Ryders sunglasses on I’m pretty sure I turn into a mountain biking badass. I picked up a pair of Zephyr sunglasses for the trail and Cadence shades for the trailhead and I’m pretty stoked about both.
If you hadn’t guessed by the name, Ryders is all about mountain biking and their Adrenaline series is full of some of the best mountain biking sunglasses you can find for the cash. I’ve been wearing my black Zephyrs riding and running for a few weeks now and I love how I can just put them on and forget about them. The duraflex frame wraps tightly around my face yet somehow the lenses rarely fog up even as I huff and puff in cold temps. With 15% VLT tint, the Zephyr seems to have just the right amount of protection for most conditions from sunny to overcast and I found I don’t really need to take the glasses on or off as I move from sun to shade. See what I mean about putting these on and forgetting them? Bonus: they appear to be virtually indestructible, though I’ll leave that testing to someone else 😉
When I’m not on the trail or track I’ve been wearing the Cadence sunglasses which, to my shock and surprise, both of my younger brothers agreed look awesome (if you knew them you’d be shocked as well). The Cadence shades have roughly the same tint factor as the Zephyr and offer 100% UV protection. The white frames I chose are apparently hip with the Kanye West set and I’ve actually been mistaken more than once for a hip-hop mogul with them on (ok, maybe less than once). The Cadence glasses come from Ryders’ Chill collection that’s packed with fashionable shades that boast the same quality craftmanship and optics as the specs in the Adrenaline collection.
Yep, if you’re looking for reasonably priced eyewear with legit performance cred on and off the trail, check out the Adrenaline and Chill lines from Ryders. Wear these long enough and you’ll be changing your middle name to Hollywood 😉
