After a couple days of riding in the desert, walking from the hotel through smokey casinos dozens of times, and wandering around the convention hall, Interbike can seem like just one big blur.
Was that a MIPS-equipped, 27.5+, Bluetooth-enabled, 800mm-wide carbon handlebar? Or are my last few appointments running together? Well, my visit to the Zoic booth was an oasis in the trade show desert.
Instead of using a couple mannequins and racks to display their new offerings, Zoic opted to put on a mini fashion show, complete with a runway, emcee, and Euro-house music. The models were actual riders, including the company’s CEO Paul Wyandt. It was fun, goofy, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
Also for 2016, Zoic is looking to get into the shoe game with a collaboration with skate shoe maker Osiris. They were showing a handful of prototypes in the booth, but exact details are not yet available. Shown below, two of the models were leather (or at least leather-esque), and the other was canvas. With Teva axing their MTB line, it’s nice to see another option.
Zoic was showing a ton of new clothes for both women and men, in a broad range of colors and patterns. There was something for everyone from tame to flashy. Even the really bright stuff was tastefully done. I think any mountain biker would be pumped to have a closet full of this gear.
Anyways, on to the clothes!
