Muc-Off waterless bike wash
Do you live in an apartment complex? Don’t have a hose hookup? Don’t want to get wet?
Whatever your bike wash woes may be, this new spray from Muc-Off solves the problem. Spray Muc-Off High Performance Waterless Wash on a dusty or dirty bike frame and wipe off with a rag for a clean frame. By the way, it’s also e-bike friendly in case you’re worried about getting wet batteries.
Don’t expect this wash to get caked-on mud off of the frame, though. It’s really to remove light dirt and dust or to clean and polish the frame in between washes. The cost is $18 per bottle.
Knog lights
Knog — known for their friendly bike bells and iconic blinky lights — released some serious new lights.
The PWR Mountain is a serious lamp capable of pumping out up to 2,000 lumens. The light head can also be detached leaving a battery or PWR Bank to charge devices or, it can be used with other Knog lights. The PWR Mountain retails for $200.
Knog also has a new headlamp called the Bandicoot that can be used for reading in the tent or installing internally-routed frame cables and hoses. The Bandicoot costs $35, is rechargeable with a USB, and will be available in May.
Ride Concepts brings new shoes to their line with D30 insoles
Ride Concepts had a huge launch last fall and has been building steam ever since. Now they’ve got a full athlete roster with the likes of Kyle Strait and Rachel Atherton. This summer, the brand will release two more shoe models including a clipless option.
The TNT shoe in the Launch series is a mid-top shoe with a little bit more ankle support for gravity protection. The insole in the Launch has D30, an impact absorbent material typically found in knee pads, in the ball and heel for stomp protection and hard landings.
The Transition is their new clipless shoe. The Transition also features a D3O-protected insole, a gusseted tongue, and what Ride Concepts calls a PowerDrive shank for solid power transfer in the shoe. It’s the shoe that Rachel Atherton will be wearing in the World Cup this year, and the women’s version is called the Traverse.
Ride Concepts will have more women’s shoes coming soon as well as socks. Look for everything to go on sale this summer.
