Alright, a lot going on here at Sea Otter, so I’ll be as succinct as possible and only as it relates to mountain biking (there’s a lot of Lycra down there… so be careful). Registration for the 20-mile MTB tour ride gets you into four days of the world’s largest consumer bike exposition, en route rest stops, SAG support, lunch at the finish, and a shower and massage after the ride. If you want to race, there’s downhill, enduro, cyclocross, XC, and more. You gotta Brompton? There’s a race for that, too! Between rides, races, and expo time, take in a show or two including trials and MTB stunt demos with with Ryan Leech and Mike Steidley. The list goes on and on, so click on over and check out the full line up for Sea Otter 2016.

Wilmington Whiteface Bike Fest: June 3-5, 2016

The Wilmington Whiteface is another weekend of festivities and fun surrounding an intense 100km XC race, which also happens to double as a Leadville 100 qualifier. If you’re not into sadism, get in on Whiteface’s other events including: a Jump Jam and trials exhibition, the welcome party featuring live music, raffles, prizes, and a Best Calves contest. The first day will also include a vendor expo, music, food, children’s activities, demo bikes, as well as free group rides and Poor Man’s Downhill–a 1,200 foot vertical descent over three miles.

Just outside Oakridge, OR, home to MBO

Mountain Bike Oregon (MBO) is arguably one of the most well-known and respected fat tire festivals in the nation. In its inaugural year, the gathering consisted of more guides than riders, but has since flourished into two separate sell-out weekends with a cap on participants for each weekend. Each day, you’ll choose from a list of trails and either jump a shuttle or the back wheel of a guide to set out onto some of the finest singletrack Oregon has to offer. Registered participants will also appreciate camping along the beautiful Willamette River, free demo bikes and mechanical support, an on-site food cart festival, and a free nightly adult beverage garden. Register here for July or August dates ASAP to get in on Central Oregon’s finest, because this thing sells out fast.
