Vermont Mountain Bike Fest: July 22-24, 2016
Based out of Mt. Ellen at Sugarbush, the Vermont Mountain Bike Fest will include rides all over The Valley, Perry Hill, and Green Mountain. All those attending the 3-day event will receive access to Sugarbush’s all-day downhill on Sunday. The Valley is loaded with phenomenal rides of all types and lengths. Guides will be available to show you the very best. Many rides will end in Waitsfield for a quick taste of town before grabbing a shuttle back to the base at Ellen. Blueberry Lake and nearby reservoirs will play host to the more moderate rides. With an addictive mix of technical, rocky, flowy, and downhill, the VMB fest is geared for an all-rider atmosphere.
Downieville Classic: August 4-7, 2016

Downieville is most famous for its races, including a 29-mile point-to-point through a Sierra Nevada gold rush route and the Downieville Downhill–a 15-miler dropping 5,000 vertical feet and dubbed the longest, most demanding mountain race in the nation. But leave the DH bikes home, bruh, because admission to the downhill race requires earning your turns by completing the aforementioned cross country competition the day before. You’ll have to draw quick for the two-race option, as its popularity and rider cap usually sells out within 30 seconds of opening registration. While the racing may take center stage in Downieville, there’s no shortage of shenanigans including, but not limited to: bike demos, trail shuttles, mechanical bulls, live music, movie night, a log pull, and, of course, the Big Air River Jump.
Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival: September 17, 2016

The fat tire good times found in Chequamegon (Sha-wa-me-gon) began in 1983 when 27 cyclists lined up to ride the unknown trails surrounding Cable and Hayward, WI. These days, the Chequamegon 40, the festival’s main XC race and event, and the Short & Fat race sell out year after year, yet any and all are welcome to ride and enjoy some of the best trails the Upper Midwest has to offer mixed with some off-camber events. Test your strength in the Klunker Toss and the Lumberjack & Jill Log Pull and see how low and high you can go in the Bike Limbo and Bunny Hop competitions. The Cheq Fest is also super kid friendly, so tune up the Striders for a kid’s bike rodeo and Kiddie Crit.
Stay tuned for details on the following MTB festivals as registration info becomes available and if we missed one or you are trying to promote a new one, let us know!
