1970 one ton Chevy van, Jeep Cherokee or bike. On an as needed basis.
The one ton has 700,000 miles on it. The Jeep, 325,000 miles on it my bike has a million smiles and counting!

2023 Ford Transit Connect(the little van). So far since April 7000 miles, VT to NC and all over New England, has been a great choice.

ND Miata when I am solo. Hidden hitch mount and 23 pound 1up usa rack. The drive to and from the trailhead is "almost" as fun as the MTB ride 🙂
When more than solo it's my wife's 2008 LX 570.

2014 Ford pickup with a camper shell. Four bike rack and can add two in the bed. I had a roof top tent for years, but now just a 270° awning and roof shower.

I am selling my 2004 Ford SuperDuty diesel that I made some redneck wooden racks for hauling bikes. Three weeks ago I bought a 2019 Ford Ranger since we don't tow our camp trailer much. Only flaw with the Ranger is the 5'1" bed so instead of an in-bed rack I will be going to a tailgate pad when I need to haul more than just my bike. I like the bikes being in the bed on dusty roads so this will be different.

I definitely agree with the others here who said the best vehicle to get to the trailhead is no vehicle!

But when I'm heading deeper into the mountains, it's all about that #vanlife for me

I ride 3 miles on quiet road to our local trailhead. But when traveling to others, my Ford Transit Connect Van for the WIN! Throw it in the back, stays safe and dry, and no rack or lock needed.

'04 pickup truck. Used to use an old Army blanket, but I've gone all enduro bro and use a RaceFace tailgate pad. Carries 5 bikes and as many of my hoodlum riding buddys.

2012 Prius V wagon. Fits bikes in the back, or I use a hitch rack.

I'm lucky to have trails in my town where I can ride from my house. When I drive, I use a Subaru Impreza with a roof rack.

Local trailhead is a 12 minute pedal from the house, so I only drive if it’s to ride somewhere else.

Then it’s a 2005 Civic Si. Sporty enough to be fun to drive on a mountain road, hatchback so a bunch of stuff fits inside.

My trail head is 5 minute ride away. Not even enough time to properly warm up. At most I ride else where once a week, in that case it is a 2018 Kia Niro, which I would call a hatchback but they probably want you to believe it is a crossover or SUV. It I am riding solo I can fit any of my bikes inside with the front wheel off. If I want to bring more bikes, I have a 4 bike hitch mounted rack.
