About Me

My first big biking adventure was a tour of the backcountry of Guatamala in the 1990s. Mountain bikes were barely born - we rode road bikes. Rediscovered the meaning of life on the MTB trails around Moab in 2013 and cheated death on the Captain Ahab trail there. I'm a New Zealander and live here at least six months of the year; love being in the great outdoors, especially the mountains - skiing, hiking and biking; After a varied career as a soldier, teacher, stock broker, accountant, production manager and gold prospector, I now do seasonal work in between travelling and living the dream. I'm divorced, and my children have grown up.
