Cane Creek just announced a 29er/27.5+ version of the popular HELM trail / enduro mountain bike fork. Dubbed the HELM 29, the new fork will be offered in both air and coil versions, just like the original HELM 27.5 introduced just one year ago.

The new HELM Coil 29 weighs 2,340g with a 55lb. spring, and offers adjustable travel between 130mm and 160mm. The air version is even more adjustable, offering between 100mm and 160mm of travel in a package that weighs 2080g, just 10g more than the HELM Air 27.

According to Cane Creek, “the HELM 29/27.5+ maintains all of the same functional characteristics of the original 27.5 fork – including a closed cartridge monotube damper […] with the addition of a 51mm offset and dimensionally adjusted lowers to accommodate the larger wheel and tire size.”

The new HELM Air 29 also features the same 7-way adjustment system as the HELM Air 27: “10 positions of high speed compression, 20 positions of low speed compression, 15 positions of low speed rebound, 9 positions volume reduction, internal travel adjustment and independently adjustable positive and negative air chambers”.

Pricing for both HELM 29 forks is the same as the original HELM, $1,100 USD. Cane Creek says the forks will be available through retailers and distributors starting this month. A quick check of canecreek.com shows the forks as available for purchase today.
