While thinking outside the box, the engineers at Nicolai decided to mount the gears on their latest adventure bike in a belt-drive-powered gearbox. If your dirt road spins are growing longer and more varied, a ride like the Argon GX Pinion might be just the ticket to fewer mechanicals and longer maintenance intervals.
The frame’s 7020-T6 aircraft aluminum rear end and carbon fork make space for 45mm-wide 29″ tires or 50mm-wide 27.5″ tires for maximum comfort. There are mounts for two water bottles, a pair of fender eyelets at either end, and all of the cable routing is external for speedy service. The bike can be ordered with a 12- or 18-speed Pinion gearbox to suit the slopes you plan to climb.
The Argon GX Pinion is available in 50 different colors, with flat or drop bars, as a frame or complete bike. Prices will vary based on the build you choose, starting at €3,348 for a frameset and €4,125 for a complete bike.
