Do you consider resale value when buying a new MTB?

Selling an old bike is can be helpful when it's time to pay for a new one. We want to know if and how that thinking influences your purchase.

Mountain bikes are expensive, and for most of us, buying a new bike means selling an old one to offset the cost. But to others, a bike is a lifelong commitment. (For the life of the bike, that is.) Maybe for the lucky few, money is no object and resale isn’t a consideration at all. We want to know where you fall on that spectrum.

When you buy a new mountain bike, do you consider resale?

If you answered that you somewhat or absolutely consider resale value, tell us what you look for in a bike to make it attractive for resale. Is it the color, the components, the brand name, or something else? Do you have any tips for riding and maintaining your bike to maximize resale value?
