The fine folks at Arc8 Bicycles in Basil, Switzerland, have a new fully integrated handlebar on offer with their component brand, Faserwerk. The Baslerstab integrated cockpit gets its name from the city where it’s manufactured. It “refers to the city arms of our hometown, Basel. It literally means Basilean bar.”
The carbon cockpit weighs a scant 240g at 800mm wide, which is similar to a lot of the competition’s handlebars without a stem. Of course, customers can cut it to their preferred width. It’s available with two effective stem lengths of 35 and 50mm, with 6° of upsweep, 9° backsweep, and a 15mm rise.
Faserwerk says the bar passes all of the requirements for DH racing, which is kind of mind blowing at that feathery weight. You can pick up a Baslerstab and drop some grams from your bike for €/$299. For reference, the Syncros Hixon iC integrated cockpit that we tested a few years ago weighs 273g and retails for $329.
