Mountain bikers of a certain age have been drooling over the Cane Creek eeWings titanium crankset since it debuted in 2017. Now, the blingtastic spinners have been updated to work with modern, 8-bolt direct mount chainrings, including those designed for SRAM Eagle Transmission and SRAM power meters.

The new design features a streamlined shape to reduce the chance of pedal strikes, and the fixing bolt has been sized down from a massive 14mm hex bolt to an 8mm. Most home mechanics’ hex tool sets max out at a 10mm wrench, so this is welcome news.

The eeWings mountain crankset is available in 160, 165, and 170mm lengths.

So why titanium? Cane Creek says the eeWings crankset is as lightweight as carbon and offers “far more durability and impact resistance against rock strikes and other mishaps.” And also, “they look absolutely stunning and timeless on any type of bike,” which seems to be just as important.

The new Cane Creek eeWings crankset is available to purchase online for $1,199.99.
