Transition youth bikes
Transition is bringing back three mountain bike models, all designed for young riders. The Transition Bandit rolls on 20″ wheels and is designed to fit riders between 3.5 and 4.5 feet tall. It’s an aluminum hardtail with a 100mm Manitou Junit fork and Shimano short-reach shifters and brake levers, plus a 135mm crankset designed for shorter legs. This pint-sized bike looks like a ripper with 2.3-inch-wide Maxxis Minion DHR II tires and a slack 66° head tube angle.
The Transition Ripcord is a full suspension aluminum mountain bike with 24″ wheels sporting 130mm of suspension travel front and rear. It also has a dropper post with 75mm of travel and is slightly slacker than the Bandit with a 65° head tube angle.
Finally, the Transition Scout returns, this time with a focus on smaller riders, available in sizes extra small through medium only. The aluminum frame features a 64° head tube angle, 27.5″ wheels, and 150mm of suspension travel front and rear.

Buyers can place a deposit to reserve a bike before the end of the year, and Deviate says they’ll release the final specs in April, so buyers can decide if they want to pre-order a bike at that time.
