Can’d Aid, a non-profit that “spreads people powered do-goodery” and affiliated with REEB Cycles and Oscar Blues Brewery, is raising funds to help kids with school supplies in California. The group explains in a recent email to supporters:
As wildfires continue to ravage California, beloved farming communities are getting hit the hardest – destroying homes, barns, crops and livestock. With little containment in sight and as dangerous levels of smoke continue to choke the air, farmers are risking their health to harvest crops that will feed families across the US. Despite these struggles, one of the top needs that farming families have identified is assistance with getting their children prepared for school and at-home learning. They are requesting school supplies, calculators, rulers, notebooks and art supplies which will help families adapt to remote learning for the 2020 school year.
In light of these requests, Can’d Aid is working to rapidly assemble and ship a large donation of art and school supplies to the Salinas, CA region. Please make a donation today to help increase the amount of supplies we can send. Every single dollar counts and will deliver a small amount of comfort to families overwhelmed by the fires.
$10 will provide one set of supplies (notebook, pencil, crayons, ruler, etc.)
$20 will provide two back-to-school sets
$50 will provide five back-to-school sets
$100 will provide ten back-to-school sets
All donations will be used to purchase school and art supplies for students in California affected by the wildfires.
