We took a long look at the Polygon Siskiu during Eurobike in 2018, and today the affordable alloy model is ready for a full update. The revamped size small bikes will roll on 27.5″ wheels, medium frames can be purchased with either wheel size, and the large and XL offerings will be all 29″. The affordable Siskiu models are split between a top T8 build for $2,299 and an entry level T7 for $1,799. Suspension travel is also split, with 140mm for the larger wheel diameter and 150mm on 27.5″ bikes.
The frame’s measurements have shifted somewhat, now with an industry standard 65° headtube angle, and a 460mm reach on the medium that should feel a little shorter given the steep 76.5° seat tube angle. Chainstays on the 29″ bikes are a brief 430mm, and on 27.5″ bikes they’re shorter still at 425mm. Bottom bracket drop for the two wheel sizes is 39mm and 20mm, respectively.
The Suskiu T7 model is equipped with Shimano’s newly released Deore 12-speed drivetrain, a Rockshox Recon Boost fork and Select Plus shock, a TranzX dropper, and Tektro HD M735 brakes with four pistons up front and two in the rear.
T8 builds ride on a Fox 34 Rhythm fork and Float DPS shock, Shimano SLX drivetrain, a TranzX dropper post, and a pair of four piston brakes.
Polygon says that the bike’s “faux-bar” suspension design has also been improved, with a more progressive leverage ratio and a 10% increase in anti squat. Given this more supportive platform they were able to use a lighter shock tune that should also improve small bump sensitivity for the Siskiu T Series.
