I voted for the 1st option but it's not quite that simple. Crashes are often hilarious, but not if you know that the rider got injured. Watching TVS's Rampage crash this year, for example, was painful. Though this is mitigated somewhat by the knowledge that most crash videos online are submitted by the crashers themselves - they're giving us permission to see what happened and they wouldn't do that if they just wanted to forget the whole thing. Also, another reason to watch fail reels is that they are excellent case studies in what *not* to do and their prevalence helps the whole mtb community to be safer.
I used to enjoy crash videos. Then a close friend had a bad wreck. Crushed 3 vertebrae and is lucky that he wasn’t paralyzed. No desire to watch them anymore.
Not really a fan. They dont make me feel sick. But I am also a newb but at 38 have had plenty of sports/occupational injuries. I know how a severe injury can set a person back, not just physically but mentally as well. I am, and always will be, an ameteur rider. I know this and as such have a life that has no time or energy for a severe injury. bottom line, when i see these crashes it reminds me how easily a good day can turn into a very bad year.
