Some outdoor recreation hotspots are full of mountain bikers, while others see a mix of travelers.

There are so many great places to ride mountain bikes today! This is the time of year when we start planning our summer trips, and it can be hard to narrow down the list.

Some destinations are known primarily for mountain biking, while others are more generally outdoors-oriented toward other activities like water sports, rock climbing, and hiking. The upside to MTB-specific destinations is you’ll always meet other riders at the local watering hole, though the downside is that if you’re traveling with non-riders, there’s not as much for them to do.
